Napoleon was not in fact vertically challenged. He was the normal height for his time. After his time he was actually relatively tall for a Frenchman. This was due to the attrition wrought on the population by his careless habit of losing armies, in particular the better specimens of French manhood.

In the UK I am not unusually tall but here in rural France I know that anyone of my height or more is almost certainly a Dutchman.

Clarkson may not be a dickhead, but he conceals the fact admirably.
