Ooh! don't know much about snakes. I reckon the biggest I could kill with a shovel would be a Python perhaps an Anaconda, if I caught it off guard

Good luck killing an anaconda with a shovel... they can be huuuuuuge buggers!!! Up to about 30ft IIRC from a prog I saw some years ago.

Perhaps asking for the species is a little tight. It was a Boomslang so guessing its natural habitat might have led you to it (trees).
