I'm trying to convince myself that a 21" (54cm) will be fine for someone 5 11"

And a 32" inside leg....In the old deign triban 3....it felt fine if just slightly short in reach but not that much and frame just a tad small but again not alot, I know when I sat on a T5 22" (56cm) it felt more normal....but I really do prefer the T3.....or stop just buggering about and go for the t5...aaaarrrhhhhh

I'm 6' 1" with a 32" inside leg. My road bike is a 58" and fits like a, err, glove.

Horses for courses, I suppose. But if it feels 'right', buy it, but don't come complaining on here about a pain in the knees/back/shoulders in a few weeks time, or advertising a 'reluctant sell at a great price' in the classified section! ;)

.....I'm as well going for the bigger one then, and just to say that I now just cant a new old T3...bollox

You'd have to sit on the bike but a longer stem and high seatpost it could be OK. FWIW, I'm 5'9.25" and my kinesis was a 54cm, imc the next model up was a 57cm and that would have been too large and harder to modify. I descend better on 55cm and 56cm bikes though.

I honestly think I'm as well sticking to a 22"....so I'm not going to get a new (old) T3, just need to settle with a T5 if that's what I go for

FWIW, I have the T3 in 54cm and am 5foot 6inches - had to shorten the stem. my OH is 6'0" and went with the 60cm T3 and probably needs a very slightly shorter stem as well, but that is more of issues with his lower spine than the bike itself (he's not very flexible ).

I'll stick to a 22"

Fixed wheel fanatic.
I'm 5'11 and every bike I have bought needs a huge stem as I have a long torso or something. My tourer is a 60cm (my other bikes are 58cm) and while stand over is just enough I still needed a long stem.
Everyone is different though.

I ended up going for a 23" T5, the one I had reserved (T5 22") had a chip in the top tube about 5mm round (the sales guy spotted it not me....(although I would have later), he said he either knock money off or go for another. I went for another but a slightly upgarded one, with diffirent gears.

He did say he thought it was to big for me, granted it's a bit longer reach to the bars, but not that bad, and anyway, if it is, he suggested (as I did) fit a shorter stem

Enjoy!

I would be careful riding a too big bike - I ended up with chronic tennis elbow and surgery caused by being over stretched !

I'll see how it goes, if it's that bad and I can't exchange it I'll put it on gumtree or swaps ect for a swap...someone somewhere might have one that's to small and want bugger
