I'm trying to convince myself that a 21" (54cm) will be fine for someone 5 11"

I am not sure - I don't think I could ever have made that too big bike that caused my knackered tendon small enough even with a smaller stem - I did indeed change it

FWIW I'm 5foot 9.25 inch and acording to bike fits a 56cm is ideal for me, due to failure of my 54cm bike I've borrowed my brothers 56cm and it fits like a glove, I commute on a 56cm too. Stu's 0.75 inches (nearly 2cm) taller and going on simple maths a 58cm might be fine for him, it'll not be far out such that it cant easilly be ajusted if he needs too, Enjoy your bike Stu

Yea HL I know what you mean, I had it out earlier with her, she said it looks to big four me, yet I don't feel it does, I stretch a bit yes but it's not bad, well I don't feel that bad. She said there's about 5-6" of my back showing because I'm stretching, but I also had an elasticated fleece on which would help. I'll see how it goes
