Impact of wider tires

I am thinking of runnng a tire width of 30 rather than the current 25. I think I have just enough clearance without mudguards. Am I going to notice a big impact on comfort or will it be marginal?

I realise I can run a lot less pressure 110 v 90 ish, give or take but I am not clear how much more comfort that will be on bridleways etc

I have 32mm on my CX and they are substantially more comfortable than 23mm. I run semi-slick Scwalbe Marathon Supremes.

You will get people telling you how slow 30's will be. Maybe for a hard-core balls-out rider they will be but I would wager that the vast majority of riders would notice precisely zero difference.

I've gone up from 24mm to 28mm tyres on my audax/cross bike because I wanted a little more cushioning; I was "finding" quite a few pot-holes in the dark towards the end of audaxes.
I haven't noticed them being any slower or any heavier and I like the extra comfort.
Interestingly, I also used Marathon Supremes but, on my new wheels, I opted for GP 4 Seasons. I've been very impressed with both types of tyre.

I used to ride 23mm, went over to 25mm a year ago. Can't tell difference in comfort or speed. It is only 2mm though.

The reason for asking is that I am comtemplating getting rid of the equilibrium and a larger sized croix de fer. The latter will run larger tires but I am not sure how that translates into comfort. Also it has discs which should give better braking.

I did the same, only I changed from stock Decathlon 23c tyres over to Schwalbe Durano Pluses in 25c and I can tell the difference in both handling, comfort and life is slightly slower but nothing dramatic and given I am not fast in the first place, I much prefer the little extra comfort and confidence the new tyres have given me.
