Mrs Rapples and I had our first dance to Young Guns by Wham, that was in 1983 though!

Pick what means the most to you, personally I think the relevence of Madness singing it is great.

At my sisters wedding, our local GP stole £100 worth of cigars from the free bar.

That's as good as my Grandma's 80th birthday party, which was gatecrashed by the vicar. He came, browsed the buffet and went. Mum asked her why she;d invited him, knowing they didn't get on. Grandma said she hadn't!

Word was, his wife was away, so he had no one to cook for him...

I would be careful about playing anything like that at my wedding.

My wife left me over my obsession with Mike Barson, Cathal Smyth,Lee Thompson,Chris Foreman, Mark Bedford, Daniel Woodgate and Suggs.

I can't understand her. It's total Madness.

Oooh, that sounds cool!

I quite agree about the overpriced, over pressured wedding palaver. NT and I have talked a bit about what we want from our wedding, and have decided two things. First, we want relaxed and informal above all, with everyone comfortable. If this means me in trousers, but my Mum dressed up to the nines*, that's fine. Secondly, I want a three tiered cake of cheese, possibly with a topper of pork pie.

I can't understand spending tens of thousands on a single day. It's the rest of the days afterwards that matter, and should have the effort put into.

I hope your day goes swimmingly! And I say goes with the version of the song that means most to you.

*for my Mum, this will be an immaculate outfit, hand adapted from an incredible charity shop find, probably finished the night before....

Hey Arch. Thanks. I didn't even realise you were getting married too!

Congratulations!!

Have you been to a wedding fare? The tat on offer is unbelievable.

When's your big day?

We don't have a date yet. Or a venue - like whether we get married in York or Manchester!

I haven't been to a wedding fare, not my (or our) thing at all. I've seen enough snippets in magazines in the recycling to know just what you mean though.

We're aiming for relaxed, and cheap!

And something that doesn't raise my blood pressure.

I am happy to have a wedding anywhere that doesn't look like a 70's council office, though if that is the case then it will be very, very low key and then clear off quick to a nicer venue, possibly a mass, unannounced visit of the NRM for :cuppa: before moving on to somewhere for some :hungry::girldance::dance::hungry:.

Congratulations to both couples. Having seem a couple of weddings recently make me glad we did it 20 years ago, even then it was quite a palaver (and yes I was helping my Mum finish off the dress the day before as Mr Summerdays was pressed into helping produce some final cake decorations). Go with the music that is special to you - after all that's why you choose it.
