Ok! I went for the Giant and I'm getting it on Friday. ^_^

So far I've got a bike (comes with pedals), helmet, shoes and cleats.

I just need a saddle bag with tubes, puncture repair kit and tyre levers. That about it? Any recommendations please?

Oh, and a pump. I've been told to get an offset pump to have two water bottles. All sound ok?

(I've literally no idea what bag, tubes, pump, lever and puncture repair kit to get though)

so, the track pump is for me to keep at home yeah?

would the pump in the link be suitable to have on my bike?

Yes and yes. However, the pump description doesn't mention a bracket for frame mounting...not that I can see immediately anyhow

Hmmm...I've gotta say, pump, bag, puncture kit and spare tube purchasing is a rather tiresome and boring affair!

Tiny - the pump I listed should be good enough then? And what size saddle bag do you have because I don't foresee myself buying too many cycle jerseys for a while!

I only take that stuff with me if I don't have a rescue person I can call. I wouldn't use it for commuting to work etc either, or anywhere I could call a taxi to get myself and the bike home. Country rides only.

Yes. Composite is carbon. Otherwise, alu, alloy, steel, titanium, bamboo  as materials for bikes

You can tell by looking at the frame. No welds
Composite means it uses other materials as well. No apparent frame welds is no indication of a carbon frame. Have a look at the Boardman Ali bikes, the welds have just been very well smoothed. Some other manufactures use this method too.
