In praise of... Bing

Since Bing, the search engine, not Crosby was launched it's been my preferred home page to google... why? nice photo's most days.

however today they're promoting cycling... woo hoo.

The search page certainly looks nicer than Google, the results page is very similar. Whether it's as good as a search engine I just don't know. I prefer Bing Maps by miles because you can get Ordnance Survey. I've never been a big fan of Google's maps. Also, Google is starting to grate, it just wants too much info from you - my gmail is forever asking for my mobile number and I gather that if you sign up for a new Google account now you are forced into Google plus.

IMO, the result are just as good, but I'm sure thousands would disagree.

But the quality of the daily photos really is excellent, and I do like a good photo.

I must say though, I've not really warmed to bing maps... but shall give them a closer look.

On the mpas, can't seem to go to 'streetview'. Is that only a Google function?

Pretty much. Bing has "Streetside" but I think the area it covers is quite limited.
