My lad FF Junior (12) has suddenly caught the road-bike bug (3 orf his best mates have just got them and 2 of their Dads are roadies too). So this is unexpectedly good news, some Dads 'n' lads bike rides are in the offing.
But FF Junior is a bit of a short-arse and most regular small 700c frames don't fit. But, Decathlon's Triban one comes in a 51 size with 650c wheels .... and it's only £299.

Perfect! Well almost, you see the seatpost goes no lower than seen in the picture, so it meant we couldn't get it properly fitted-up in the shop which was a shame. Still the store mechanics checked it over and we took it home ... 5 mins later with a hacksaw, we're sorted. His mates Carrera had the same overlong seatpost issue too.
So what of the bike? It's brill, well thought-out (little soft rubber sleeves to protect the frame from the cables), nicely equiped, finishing kit good quality, brakes work well, good paintwork and apart from the cheapie tyres no complaints.
The lad loves it
They were certainly shifting some bikes and they have some interesting products in their range, add in good basic accessories it's not a bad option for those on a budget.
