In a celebrity world of vacuus nonentities it's nice to hear of people who can be bothered to do something fun like this without all the tosspottery that normally surrounds anything involving somebody famous.

Brilliant actor brilliant guy, i am an absolute fan watched everything hes ever been in including his breaking perfomance in 21 jump street, just confirms for me what an awesome guy he is.

Living here in 'Pirates of the Caribbean' land, our entire area has been taken over by the set, we have over 150 horses, plus the associated carriages, grooms, stables etc. as well as over 1,000 extras, all suitably dressed in a style known as 'Ragged Georgian'.

However as one is cycling along the Lower Road it is quite good to see all the traffic bought to a standstill by 100 extras, including Johnny Depp, crossing the road to get lunch !

Amazing isn't it how we still hold a romantic idea of pirates and highwaymen? They were really muggers and I bet they'd have stolen bicycles if they had existed.

But yes, I love the clothing and the hats. I sometimes wear a Glengarry hat or a Braemar bonnet when I'm feeling swashbuckling enough, not that these were worn by pirates!

And on November 29, unknown to the public, Depp spent four hours at the hospital telling bedtime stories to patients dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow after having his Pirates Of The Caribbean costume flown over from Los Angeles.
