A couple of thumbs-ups today.
This morning, a white van was waiting to turn right out of a side road, into the traffic in the lane I was in, so I waved him out and he waved thanks, and then left a nice big gap down the left for me to filter past. Good karma for me, too, as a little further on an oncoming BMW driver turning right across my lane, and let through by a driver who'd flashed him across, had stopped and looked carefully up the cycle lane, and therefore didn't pull across me filtering (carefully) down the left.
And on the way home, wanting to turn right into a queue of traffic, another van man let me out.
So, there we are, some stereotypes broken.
Best bit was noticing a Spanish registered 4x4 (that's why it was recognisable) overtaking me, and then a good 2 miles later, and despite me having queued in some traffic rather than filter at every opportunity*, passing it stuck in more traffic....
*in this wind, I didn't feel like making too much effort, and figured I may as well sit and rest as try and scrape down one side or the other.
