Ordered a Sugino 103 x 68 bottom bracket and appropriate bike hand tool for fitting it yesterday.
Both arrived today.
Splendid service.
Apropos of other threads I tried to do the right thing and buy off web...
Two times LBS fail -
"impossible to get in that size" says shop one trans. I don't have any, fixed isn't our thing, and you didn't buy your bike from me so even though you're desperate and will pay any price within reason to get one I'd rather hack my nose of with a rusty junior hacksaw than sell you something

"can order you one tomorrow and it will be in next week sometime, if they've got them in stock, as it is an odd size." says shop two trans. I recognize you from your self description and past custom as a bloke who has sometimes money to spend, the item you want isn't the cheapest in its class, and as you're clearly a person of some discernment I would like to have you as a regular customer so I'll try my best even though it means your bike will be unrideable for a week (because I know you've got more than one bike)
"ring ring, ring ring" is all I can get form shop three and no they aren't shut on Tuesdays.
btw it's a freakin' stock size for singlespeed/fixed OTS bikes.
