Mmm, that doesn't sound good.

It's a Charge 2.
Oooh. She has a Charge1. Keep an eye on it, if the bracelet starts to separate from the unit, contact them. They do have very good customer service but hopefully they've addressed the issues that plagued the charge1.

I got a generic fitness watch for Christmas but it's been sent back because it wouldn't even turn on!

FWIW, good luck with reaching your targets. I, too, have made a NY's resolution to get fit and will be upping my mileage. I think the key thing is not to try to do too much, particularly in the winter months. Have you got a turbo trainer to get some initial miles in? Perhaps it's also worth signing up for an event in the summer (one of Colin's rides???) to give you something to aim for.
I'll see if I can persuade him to join us for a part of our June ride in Cheshire, not far from him! :okay:

Maybe even just to the first cafe stop, @potsy ...(or even part of the way)?

After successfully reaching my cycling target for the year, I have decided to increase next year's target quite significantly.

A big ask, but I am going to go for a 20%+ increase.

Anyone else planning such a dramatic change?

Not a change but I plan a big increase. I’ve never set targets and only started using Strava this year. I’m pleased to find I’ve ridden 4976 this year - going out Sunday to do 70+ to make sure I pass 5,000 - and 276,900 feet - will do 3000+ to get to 280,000.

Knowing the above and I’ve retired I’m targeting 7500 miles and 425,000 feet of climbing.

I’ve done my first season of Audax rides which I loved. This year I want to do a few more 200s and maybe my first 300. I’m 650km into using a bike trainer which in just over a month has seen some tangible results. I hope this all adds to my fitness and my mileage.

This forum has been a great inspiration and I have gained immeasurably from the knowledge, wisdom and humour on here.

Fanks :hugs:

In 2016 I rode just under 3,000 miles so set myself a target of 4,000 miles for this year.
Unfortunately a combination of a new role at work limiting my bike time over the summer and nearly a month off the bike with severe manflu meant that for a long time it looked like I'd struggle to get half those miles in. I've now reached 2,200 and I'm unlikely to add significantly to this over the next few days.
Next year's target is 3,000 miles - starting Monday all being well. Not a huge amount compared to many, but enough to stretch me while still being attainable.

I'm happy to go for that myself. 3000 next year will do me fine.
