Also looking ahead, I guess we might be in for a mild winter this year. So I won't be rushing out to buy ice tyres just yet.

We've got absolutely no idea what the weather is going to be like this winter until a day or two before. I have no faith whatsoever in long range weather predictions.

My long range seasonal forecast for the winter is actually very crude. It is based on what looks like a strong positive North Atlantic oscillation index, which normally brings us mild and unsettled weather over the winter months.<br><br>It is possible that things could change and we get a cold winter. If I start talking about and buy studded tyres, then you know it is going to be cold <br>

Spoke too soon it's raining now,luckily I'm home and dry.

That was my fault, managed an early dart after a meeting, so washed 2 cars and cut the grass............SORRY !
