What you now need is a cat....

I love these, we got my son one a while ago and after a few crash lands wouldnt fly properly. Seemed too easy to unbalance. But Id love a bigger one all the same. I recieved a small hovering ufo for christmas, it only goes up and down, with flashing lights. Using a tray to waft at it we can move it to try and land on a given target, still great fun though.
If you do get one, make sure it's 3 channel. The two channel ones are always moving forward so don't hover. Three channel models have a little rotor at the back which faces upwards and allows you to move backwards, forwards and to hover.
Just adding this bit.
If possible get one with a vertical tail rotor, their flight is a bit more predictable. Harder to master but better flyers.

Anyone fitted a camera to theirs yet?

Everyone and his dog seems to have a helicopter so I thought I would get a radio control digger instead. Only prob is the flat is to small to use it properly and it is to wet outside at the moment for it so it is still in its box.
I could never leave it in its box, Id have to get it out and at least try it.

I really want one now, I still haven't learnt from the past that every time I buy a RC vehicle I will break it within 5 minutes of opening the box. Still it would be a great laugh to attach the helmet cam and fly it around the garden. ^_^

Just call me Chris...
Mine won't quite get off the ground with the camera taped to it, guess I'll just have to get one of those gas turbine jobbies at some stage...

The dog finally ran out of patience with mine, jumped on it and snapped the back stick thingy (tail rotor stay?)
So, off to get some araldite and normal service should resume shortly

Third Christmas in a row, Santa bought me a helicopter - this time a 107. It's early days but so far this one's easily been the best of the lot mainly because of the different tail rotor configuration and the ability to hover in one spot rather than constantly have to be moving forward which the previous ones had. There's also a little twiddly control knob that nulls out any tendency to spin left or right while hovering too which has made it easier to fly than the previous ones.

I'd actually said to the family not to get me a helicopter this year if anyone was thinking of it because of my poor record with its predecessors, but they chose well and I'm rather pleased to have got it now.

They are excellent fun

I got one last year and played with it loads. I started off in the front room, just taking-off and then landing under control. Went outside (we have a big piece of grass in front of our house) at night (the chopper has LEDs) when it ewas still and played some more. I often take it into work and play with it in the sports hall when the students aren't in
