Bah! Had forgot about my sons syme 006 till this thread. Then I rememberd why - I seriously broke it, but it never flew very well anyway, tended t spin round and round (an older non-gyro model)
I've now spent ages looking at webstores and youtube vids. Is it worth the extra few £ for a four channel heli?

Have you got a link or some pics? You have my interest, never seen one of these.
I've only ever seen them in Maplins at Christmas but I will see what I can do.

Edit: Try here www.maplins.co.uk/r-c-construction-digger-221621 Go to toys and games, remotecontrolled land then the second page. They might have some left.

P.S. Shaun is there any reason why I can't get the insert link to work it is greyed out?

As someone who first dabbled with radio control stuff in the eighties I just cannot believe how cheap these things are, even R/C planes that can be used outdoors can be had well under £100.

Planes used to be an expensive hobby, and helicopters seriously expensive.

I know what you mean, an R/C plane was always a dream as a kid, but even when I started working a budget trainer was £300.00 plus.

Write some text first ie Maplins Digger. Copy the url you want to link to. Highlight your text ie Maplins Digger. And the insert link button should now be available.
I don't see how that works, given the picture.

Normally they're-

Channel 1 - rotor power (up/down)
Channel 2 - differential between upper and lower rotors (left/right)
Channel 3- vertical facing rotor on tail (tail up and down - forwards and backwards)

The one in the pic has a horizontal tail rotor (turn left/right) and twin main rotors. I'd be interested to know why as they both serve the same control function, and I'd also like to know how it does forwards/backwards.
I think from a bit of reading 4 channels are: up/down - rotor speed; forwards/backwards; rotation - left/right; and the extra is yaw - fly sideways left/right. Don't all helicopters fly by altering the angle of attack of the blades towaeds the direction of travel?

I've always wanted a R/C articulated truck (full function) but the only ones I know of are the kits from Tamiya which come to around £700 with the tractor and trailer.
I used to watch a giant model series on discovery a few years back, a comedien called mark something did it. they had impressive artics on there in one of the episodes, all fully functional.
