Maybe its the lack of mileage this week but its 2am and I'm wide awake with a mind spinning like a Catherine wheel with a nail through it. May just jump on turbo ...

How far have you got with the counting?

Insomnia - Probably caused by the thought of what a can of worms you opened in the 'Living Alone' thread.
Try not to lose any sleep over it though, BoaB.
Whilst you're awake, you might compose and edit the 'CycleChat' Festive Forum Song...and debut in this very place on, say, the 1st December? (My advice: do not ask ClassicTwotrees to provide any words, or let CyclingDan loose on the video edit.)

Somebody wake him up and tell him it's time to take his sleeping pill.

A doctor told me before that a banana before bedtime along with a milky drink can help aid sleep, something about bananas containing tryptophan?

I was up until 3am but I would not say I have insomnia!

Wifey likes to go to bed by 11 each night for 8 hours sleep. I can do that for a couple of nights but then that is too much for me. So quite often I will stay up until 1, 2 or 3 and then I am back in sync. Sometimes bright moonlit nights are a trigger. It is rare that it is triggered by worry.

So you may find it is a one off worry or a long term worry. But if it is just the amount of sleep you need then you can try and read the signs and fit yourself around it.

I've lived with insomnia pretty much all my life... even as a kid I can remember being wide awake while the rest of the household slept on. Sometimes debilitating, after a few really wakeful nights, but I'm mostly used to it.

Ugh! I get periodic bouts of that too. I've found that trying to get back to sleep doesn't work very well so I get up, make a cuppa and watch tv. Saying that, they have been less since I started cycling again.
