According to today's Times, FB and Instagram have backtracked and will be issuing new privacy policies soon

It wouldn't surprise me if they did backtrack. As one industry commentator put it, the new ill-judged policy would essentially be their suicide note.

I've used instagram a bit, but not much. It has nowt (as far as I can see) that other 'effects' apps/programmes don't have, as is more limited than other free ones I've used. As I wasn't expecting to sell my images anyway, it really doesn't bother me, so I'm getting angry about nothing, but it feels kind of good to vent ones spleen about nothing in particular, a bit like screaming therapy, I'd imagine, but I've never done that either.*

Unlike 'Chad' in the witty cartoon, though, the nice folks at Instagram went well out of their way to encourage people - anyone, everyone - to store as much stuff as they possibly could in their 'garage', the more the merrier in fact.
