Has anyone used these?

I have two outside walls which always feel cold in winter and are prone to mould if the room's not used for a period. Both walls have windows in.
I've been looking at a couple of products which would do the job of maybe keeping the walls warmer to the touch and making them less prone to mould.
A cheaper 2mm one :
https://www.wickes.co.uk/Erfurt-Red-Laber-Heatsaver-Wall-Underliner---0-5m-x-10m/p/105968
And one which is getting on for 3 times the cost:
https://www.wickes.co.uk/Erfurt-Graphite-Insulating-Lining-Paper-Plus---0-5m-x-10m/p/118841

If you have any experiences of either or maybe a different product I would welcome some observations.

Thanks.

That's an interesting idea... This room also has 2 cold outside walls with windows. I will keep an eye on this thread!

The room I've just had re-plastered is not very well thought out. A door right in the middle of one wall, windows in two of the other walls and a chimney breast in the other wall.

I used the £16 one on our bedroom which has 2 outside walls, so we were plagued with condensation in places.
The paper is a bit of a bugger to put up, it will crack if you bend it too far. You will also need to buy the specialist glue as normal paper glue won't adhere it to the wall. I covered used lining paper and then painted.
The walls do definitely feel less cold to the touch and don't seem haven't suffered condensation problems so far.
So for me it was worth the cost.

So did you have to bend the wall covering into the reveals on a window?

What type of wall? Based on my uninsulated cavity brick wall, an inner temperature of 20C and an outer temperature of 5.4C, it makes about 0.33C difference to the surface temperature of the wall (from 17.68C to 18.01C). I don't know what the conditions for mould development are, but that doesn't sound like a big difference to me.

It's polystyrene, which burns with toxic fumes, so it only meets fire regs if you cover it with one of their fire resistant layers:

9" solid brick wall. No cavity. It's just condensation that forms when the wall is so cold and the room is warm. When the room is in regular use with plenty of air movement it's not a problem.

Yes I've read the stuff about fire regs.

Strip the walls of plaster back to brick, ensure no issues with rising damp, running water down walls, gutters etc.

Refit foil back insulation plasterboards . Skim and decorating :okay:

No rising damp. An area that was showing an issue l've already sorted and the room has been skimmed already.
No problems with water ingress, it is just condensation. To be honest it isn't much of a problem but it's a North and facing room, never gets sunlight and always has that clammy feel to it.
Insulation on the outside walls, however limited might help.
