I've done a brief search here and couldn't find any recommendations.

Basically can anyone recommend a reasonably priced bike insurer which wouldn't be a nightmare to deal with.

If your bike isn't too expensive and you don't want cover for racing take a look at your house insurance.

I find specified item house insurance the best option as it works out much cheaper than bike only insurance. Some of the premiums that are quoted, you could insure a car cheaper!

I recently switched home and contents insurance as my old company wouldn't cover my new bike due to the higher value, I found this lot very competative when adding a bike, obviously no good if you want it insured for racing, if you do, then that'll be expensive

Unfortunately I don't have house insurance.

Looked at cycleguard and thought they looked good, but wasn't sure if their premiums were overpriced or not as I have never bought bike insurance.
