That was quite good. Its amazing how bikes have come along. I don't think Id want to get on my bike from the rear though like the Victorians/Edwardians did, and the swaying saddle, Id get motion sickness if we still had them

So the post office buys all it's bicyles froma company that hand builds them to a 100 year old design? I know nothing about Pashley but I can't imagine that's particularly economical, no wonder it [the Royal Mail] is in trouble.

just because a design is a bit older doesn't make it a bad or uneconomic idea. Brookes saddles are an old design but still more comfortable than most, sturmey archer gears are still going strong and like them Pashley are building a quality product for particular markets. It just shows that Post Office buyers are chasing best value and not just best price (or posties would be riding Aldi specials  )

I used to deliver tubing into Pasley (although I'd never heard of them to start with) and once had a quick tour of the factory, I was surprised at how proud everyone seemed about what they were doing and also how old tech the bikes seemed to be, you can imagine the bikes being in use for a very long time. Real old school attitude to manufacturing instead of the pile it high sell it cheap it will fall apart attitude of a lot of manufacturers! Not my cup of tea though I must admit

I want a hammock seat!

You can have it. Pedersens were still made in Cheltenham until relatively recently - may still be being made for all I know - and they're definitely still made in Denmark

They're said to be really comfortable to ride, but I've never ridden one.
