A taxi pulled out fom the rank last night, straight into my path. I hit the taxi on the rear drivers side door with the top of my head (helmet).
Luckily I wasn't travelling very fast.
Wheel buckled, knees scraped. Waiting to see if there is any cc footage (airport).

Just dropped my bike off at EBC. £10 to true the wheel.

Edited for spelling.

glad your OK, good job you had a helmet on

have you reported to police?

not sure of exact details if you need to if you have exchanged details with driver, but maybe best to, to be on the safe side.

even though it's only a tenner, hope you can recover the costs from the driver or taxi firm. why should you be out of pocket as a result of someone else's carelessness.

but most importantly, glad you are ok.

You have to expect the unexpected when riding past things that are certainly not going to do the correct things. Glad you were riding slow and that you were not hurt too much. Whilst the driver did not make the correct observations, checking as you ride past which taxi has a driver in and looking for other indications help your safety. As a motorcyclist who has been on police training we were told to look for little things like wheel movement etc, it is suprising once you get used to doing these things they become second nature.
