I daren't tell them that I've just joined the Badger&Blade forums (for those who're into old-school shaving). I mentioned that I shaved with an 80yr-old razor last night and you'd think I'd just confessed to a murder by the looks on their faces! I'll keep the news of my 1958 Gillette Fatboy, 1965 Slim Adjustable and 1955 Superspeed to myself now.

This is why I think the internet is wonderful. For those of us who are into what would probably be described as minority interests, it allows you get in touch with like minded enthusiasts that you would probably never know otherwise. I've met some very nice people (in real life now) in vintage bike circles, all because I posted pictures of some of my bikes on Flickr. I enjoy taking photos using my old manual 35mm SLR camera and I have read (although not joined yet) many old camera forums. The people i know in everyday life think I'm mad to be still using film cameras or riding about on a 60 year old bike but I enjoy it and the internet allows me to communicate with others who enjoy it as well.

For the life of me I am wondering why people are reticent to say they visit a cycle forum (or any fora for that matter). Bizarre.

I think it would be easier if we were discussing cycling but most of the time it's about the best flapjack recipes or the worst haircut.;)

But that's important. Consider how much additional drag that could be created by a poor choice of haircut:laugh:
