My new toy...

Midge is short for Midget, as he's a very compact little thing, designed for the shorter rider (well, kids!). Fits me perfectly....

He's nippy, turns on half a shilling, and fast (well, as fast as anything with me on board). I'll be tweaking the gearing up a bit probably, and fitting a rack for touring in the summer.

And you can't say he isn't visible!

Wow, nice. And very, er, orange.

Welcome to the Catrike owners Club!

I hope you get the same level of enjoyment and fun out of yours that my Expedition provides for me

Is it he Dutch?

& you haven't put the reflective spoke thingys on yet.

Not yet, that's a good idea, I have some left over. I mean, someone might not see him, being that dull colour....

No, he's American. And wonderfully petite, despite that!

The bag was a charity shop find years ago, and the only way to carry any extras (he has a small pouch built in behind the seat) until I get the rack on. Someone said "I see you've got the old cow bag on..." and I pretended to take offence thinking they were talking to the trike and referring to me!

Nice. I must have a go on one of those!

Do, if you get the chance. They (recumbent trikes generally) are THE best fun. There's a thing called the recumbent grin, looks like this:

Only bigger.

These are only out recently

Heh, yes, it's a handy bodge until I get the rack (A Dahon arclite rack for 20" wheels, ordered, but I've got to wait until March as it's out of stock).

I should try harder to travel light on day rides, there's a seat back pocket that'll take a small pump, and some other stuff, but at this time of year I tend to have spare layers to take off and carry.

Anyway, I need panniers for the tour in June, I won't get two weeks worth of stuff in that little bag...

fab foodie, you ought to get a slap by rights, but only in a Dick Emery Ooo you are awful kinda way....xx(
