Invisible back lights

I'm trying to remember the last time I saw a local bike with lights on at night, aside from my own. They don't seem to be commonly in use here.

Same here, I commute at 5.30am and regularly pass by three other cyclists, none of which have any lights


they think they can get away with just their hi-viz tabard.

they think they can get away with just their hi-viz tabard.

They don't even use Hi-Viz here, mostly Ninja cyclists. Even the few roadies I've seen seem to rely on the tiniest bit of reflective stripe on black or dark lycra.
