IPad - difficulty opening Word attachments

Open office is not available for iPads I'm afraid.

Pages, Numbers, Keynote WILL open all Microsoft office docs.

Documents unlimited will work with Open Document standards and current Microsoft Office files on the iPad. Excel calculations and formating do not always come out correct through.

OpenWord is another app which works with both OpenDoc and office formats

Easiest manner in which to look competent is to educate people on the choices they make and to help them make better choices.

The OP said something about non executive directors. If they decide they don't want to listen they don't have to they are directors. Have fun.

If they don't need to edit the documents...convert them to pdf's.

Agree as they should be viewable on any device.

And I suspect your Directors will not take kindly to you suggesting that they need to install additional software just to view a document.

MacBook Air = OSX. Ipad, iphone = iOS. OSX=/=iOS. You have to have the system if you need to test things on it. Also Google Docs works in your browser, so works on anything with a browser (plus Java natch'). Get an iPad, 'it's the only way to be sure' as Ripley would say.
