I think for £450 I would want a screen AND a keyboard. ipad seems to have no keyboard or half a screen covered in fingerprints.
I really cannot see any disadvantage in a net book. When you see how tatty and knocked the outside of any laptop gets it is easy to see that they ipad will only last five minutes.

The iPad is just a big iPhone pretty much, it doesnt even run the real MAC OS! Its a crock of sh*t, Dell have started to knock a similar thing out with Android on it.
You could buy a pretty good laptop for £450, could even get one close to the size of the iPad if you really wanted something that small.
