I feel like I could... TAKE ON THE WORLD!!
People want smaller thinner lighter phones. This is how they do it.
Im not sure people give a shoot but they have no new features so its all they have got, make it even lighter and even thinner. I dont have an apple but of the people I know who do I have heard a few complaints that the lightning cables dont last long. Yes, you may get some headphones with the phone but when it goes you have to buy new ones and your choice just got slimmer. Bluetooth headphones are a solution but most people dont want to charge the phone and the headphones as well. The wireless apple ones are £159!

Whatever you think they sell lots. And lots and lots. They have more cash than most governments. They've sold 1bn. Does that make it good? No. But as I said earlier, it's not about good. It's about a product that people want.

Is there longevity? Judging by share price, probably not.

I've recently embraced the Apple eco-culture after moving from Android after however many years it's been since the HTC Hero. The Apple forums are in meltdown over the imminent death of Apply due to the headphone issue and the fact that iOS10 doesn't introduce a Dark Mode. It's really funny, they go apoplectic that Apple has released a phone that doesn't do exactly what they want.

Or use a
What? They're going to force people to buy expensive iphone 7 specific headphones? I'm not surprised. Of course, within a few months you'll be able to get compatible ones for cheaper, but this sort of thing irritates me. I wonder what the advantages are over a normal headphone socket, other than money making?
ny of the wireless headphones People have bought over the last few years?
Well some people do prefer wired ones. The new iPhone will come with a free set of ear buds, but if the sound quality is like the current Apple ones, they won't be very good. I much prefer bluetooth to wired, though, as i hate messing about with loads of cables.

Anyway, for me it's all academic as I'll stick with my Nexus 5 for a bit longer. I've just replaced the battery and screen, which was not terribly easy and not terribly cheap, and Google have now announced that the Nexus 5 won't get Android Nougat. Bastards!
I quite like the Apple earbuds compared to other "in ear" buds. I believe the new iPhone comes with wired buds with a lightning connector, not the expensive wireless ones
