The lead has nothing to do with efficiency, sound quality or comfort
3 feet of coloured plastic cable......enables you to find them in a handbag

I like the customer Service.

I had an iPhone 5 that is 4 years old, so out of warranty and no service contract

The Battery swelled, and displaced the screen

Took it to Apple, who diagnosed a faulty battery, that had caused the problem.

£48 later I had a new battery, but as the battery had damaged the phone... they replaced it

So less than £50 for a brand new phone

Apple customer is legendary. My ipod (which I believe is still going, but I lost in the divorce) was called Poddy IV. Poddy I's usb port stopped working, so they replaced it. later I remembered I had dropped it in street a week earlier, which had probably caused the damage. Poddy II went for a swim, which I neglected to mention to the Genius. Poddy III's hard drive stopped turning, mysteriously. I took it into the Apple store, he turned it over and showed me the dent in the back just where the disk was - and then went and got Poddy IV and gave it to me for free. So that's 3 replacements for user damage.

I'm not a iPhone user, so I've been thinking what this will mean for me:
Con: less choice of wired headphones due to decreased demand and some will be made exclusively for iPhone
Pro: better bluetooth options. I like a single bt in my ear to listen to podcasts while I am pedalling. The options are super cheap, but they haven't changed very much in the last 10 years. I expect that market to boom!
