I've just taken delivery of a 2nd generation iPod Shuffle from ebay. It was sold as a 2 gb. However, if I go into properties on my PC it tells me it is only 966 mb, so basically 1 gb. Have I got this correct, has the seller missold this to me?

I know you get less than the description; this 16gb iPhone only has 14gb useable due to the operating system. I don't think they do a 1gb but losing half of your storage sounds a lot.

It had stuff on it, but that shouldn't make any difference to the stated capacity in the properties, only what used space is left. itunes wiped the iPod for me anyway when I was creating my own account.

Been a while since I had a shuffle, but I seem to recall you could allocate space for different uses in iTunes. It may be that the user has allocated 1Gb for other files and 1Gb for music.

Aye, I'm going for the diddled option as well. It did ask me when I set up my itunes account if I wanted to allocate any space to files but I said no and again i'd say the capacity in the properties would still be the same regardless of if it had been "partitioned". I've emailed the seller about 2 hrs ago so I shall await a response and see what they say.

The seller has got back to me and admitted they must have made a mistake. I've been offered to return it for a refund minus postage costs or keep it and they will refund me half of my money. I've gone for the latter as I've got enough songs on it to last for hours so it should do me for gym / cycling etc for a day. So I'll wait and see now if they do as they say. If so I guess they deserve positive feedback for admitting the mistake and correcting it.

Seller has refunded half the price so I've left positive feedback. Genuine mistake probably
