The dam in Pitlochry is definitely worth visiting.
There is a really good cafe in Kinlochrannoch as well which is worth saying hello to, as is the view down loch Rannoch itself and don't forget the frog rock...


Plus I love going to Rannoch station. Nothing there but it is still a lovely journey up to it

Isn't there an Art centre of some sort very cloe to Pitlochry?

Dunno, but there is a Boat hire place upstream of the dam with a café and ducks you can feed.

I'm actually looking forward to going to that area, as I haven't visited since I was a child! I'll have my camera with me and I love being outside, so I think it's a win-win for me, even if I don't take the MTB!

My grandparents retired up there, sadly both gone now but I love it up there, we also had trips to Betty beach, Thurso, wick and of course the far north

I was over The Ord myself just 10 days ago.

I sorely need to revisit that part of the world as I've only been up there once and it was amazing. Tempted to tack a tour du nord onto the end of the CC Ecosse tour.
