Bought biggest ironng board I could find to make ironing easier by having larger surface area on the board - less juggling etc.
Pillow cases - a must
underwear - life's too short!
Sheets - when I have nothing better to do - they feel so much nicer - so crisp ( used to wotk for someone that I had to starch and iron sheets for - aagh!))

Best iron I ever bought was a tefal steam generator - it cut my already limited ironing time in half.
Secret is the drying and folding of clothes to minimise creases at that stage.

Can't believe I am replying to a post about ironing at 10pm on a Saturday night - I must get a life  ............help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Clothes tend to get ironed, well work shirts and trousers, the wifes work clothes and the little un's clothes (clothes for a 2 yr old are easy).

Bed linen and under wear never get done.

If something's really creased when it comes out of the wardrobe I find 5-10 minutes in the tumble dryer works a treat for getting the worst of the creases out :-)

Bedding's got to match
Ironing? No.
Gym wear, usually no.
Mrs Dave gym wear yes, but it MUST'NT match – matching gym wear is a sign of "all the gear, no idea" at her gym.

When I lived alone I only ironed trousers. Everything else was washed and hung to dry as straight as it would go, preferably on the line to flap dry in the wind.

My wife, when we married ironed absolutely everything. I've managed to train her away from some items, but she still likes to make work for herself!

Iron every day, It kills the lice eggs.

I have a doctors authority that thrush spores survive a 30degree wash. A hot iron sees them off.

Haha!

Thats reminds me, My dad was away in South Africa on business some years ago. He told us of the time where he gave the hotel staff his casual clothes to wash.

The jeans all came back with creases down the front of both legs. He wasnt pleased!

Everything else, yes, but usually on an "as needed" basis (I don't set to and iron everything that's freshly washed for the sake of it).

Having said that, If I have a number of similar item (e.g. shirts) freshly washed and need to iron one, I will occasionally turn on the radio, or play some music, pour a glass of red, and do half a dozen at a time; quite relaxing.

Oh, I'm a fussy beggar too; no-one else is allowed to iron my shirts because they don't do it right!

What's an iron?

Yep .... that's my attitude normally.

Rather weirdly bumped into someone I hadn't seen for 15 years at a Secondary School open evening last week. She was a friend's ex-girl friend and the thing I remember most about her was that she ironed absolutely everything, even bras!!!
