brand new anywhere up to 500 quid so yes could be a good deal
but as i would would always do when buying any S/H bike now a days ask for frame number (often on bottom of BB shell) and then check that with various sited on-line just to make sure it isn't nicked
Cheers Ed

Or ask to see a receipt with name and address
yep another way is go down the proof of purchase path
maybe safer as not everyone who has had their bike stolen took a record of frame numbers etc or just don't register them

Buy it and ride it. Find out its nicked.. Get it conviscated - £500 ofp and without a bike. Great plan

Seriously though it most likely won't be nicked but would you buy a car without checking?

Sorry about the poor spelling earlier, small touchscreen,s and fat fingers do not mix. I have emailed the owner and await a response, very local to me as well which is a bonus.

good bike good price but lets not forget , that isnt a picture of the actual bike, it depends on condition as to whether its a bargain or a pig, if your not too sure, take someone with you who knows there way around bikes.

He said in the ad that he or she would put an actual picture of the bike on there soon, it may be to good to be true and I have still not had a reply to my query about it. I had a similar to good to be true about a week ago but that is another story.

I dont know anybody who knows about bikes, any pointers on what to check. True wheels, cracked welds, leaking forks and grinding crank and bearings are a couple I can think of.

Just had a reply, no proof of ownership but the seller say's he is a retired policeman and his wife is an ex bank manager. Call me cynical ,but, are police officers and bankers the most trustworthy of people. I will give it a miss thank you. If the seller is on here, nothing personal.

The owner of the bike updated the photos on the ad, I went and had a look today and now have a almost new bike. Absolutely cuffed to bits with it. Thanks for all the help. No proff of purchase but the fella is a bit of a bike nut and knew is stuff.
