I read somewhere that part of the data about the height of Dutch men came from a self-reporting survey. If that's the case, I imagine that they have a reputation for large penises too. Anyway, if you are a woman, you have to go to Latvia if you want to feel like a pigmy.

BTW, there's supposed to be a link between tallness and prostate cancer.

you don't see many tall old people...

I'm 6'2" and 62! in old gits pubs I'm often one of the tallest and when younger could always look over a crowd in a bar, now in a bar populated by a young crowd i'm often looking at backs of heads or shoulder blades. My kids generation are significantly taller than mine as I was significantly taller than my dad and his contemporaries.

I intend to live long and behave very disgracefully, and I'll be all the more awesome for being tall.
You'll shrink........

I've always been glad to be tall, but I wouldn't want to be very tall. And nowadays, as others have said, I'm really not that tall any more. The young folk just keep getting bigger and bigger...

In t'old days you had to be 5'10 to join the dibble, or 6'0" for the City of London. They did way with that requirement in the early eighties, on the basis that there were no small criminals left.
An Garda Shiochana kept the height restriction until fairly recently.
Cousin at 6'8" had no problem meeting it.
