So who here thinks cycling is cool? According to the Guardian 24% cyclist think that people who use their bike at least once a week are weird...

But on the plus side 65% of the people who took part in the survey consider bike riding as normal, phew...

Or to put it another way, more than a third think cycling is abnormal.

It's swimming against the tide that sometimes makes cycling all the more appealing.

Cool no thanks.

I've really noticed a lot more cyclist lately. The bikes look like recent acquisitions of the supermarket variety, maybe there's a deal on at the moment. Good to see more cyclists around, really.

Ah, HLaB you most have been the cyclist the Daily Express had in mind, based on the same survey ;)

Ah it was in the Daily Depress, it must be true

It all depends who's on the bike! Some people can be cool doing no matter what. I'd say Downhilling and BMXing are both very cool at the moment though.

Yes, I think it is cool. To me, anything that is a bit wierd and not mainstream is cool. Commuting by bike every day through the winter then going cycle camping for two weeks in Britain instead of sitting on a hot beach in Spain is the height of wierdness to many. But on the other hand, I think to the an awful lot of non cyclists we are anything but cool. Just losers who can't afford a car.

And yet just a couple of weeks ago, according to the media, we were all MAMIL's who own two cars, are more likely to read broadsheet papers, shop at Waitrose and have a household income of £50,000 per annum. ;)

1 in every 3 bikes sold in the UK is an Apollo

My son thinks my touring bike is seriously un-cool but my Cannondale MTB is very cool

I sincerely hope it isn't cool, because if it is, it will eventually become uncool, the way all fashions do.
