is GoPro the way to go ?

So I went out on a jolly little spin with my new phone mount attached to my handlebars today......
My phones camera/video capabilities are awesome so I really wanted to use it to get some good footage of my rides. However the mount isn't stable enough and the phone vibrates all over the shop and once I looked back at the recording I instantly realised that this mount just wasn't up to the task of holding my phone.
Which got me thinking am I just better off forking out for a GoPro or another bike mounted sports camera?

Any recommendations?

If so which GoPro model is that ?
It's a million times more stable than the crap I recorded today

Yep, that's mine, recorded earlier this year. It's a 4 year old HD Hero, which is bigger and heavier than the latest ones.

I mount it under the bars because if I have it above, it interferes with the Garmin GPS.

Good tip ! Pretty good view from underneath the bars too

There are other "better" cameras, such as the Sony which has electronic image stabilisation, for even more stable picture combine it with a RAM mount.

I have a go pro. Sits in the drawer for 98 % of its time. Don't buy one .

IIRC it has a waterproof housing. Sold separately.

Yes, although it needs the waterproof housing if your going to diving/swimming.
