He was in Monty Python before fawlty towers, but shouting a lot is one of his things.
He did the same shouty stuff in a film called Clock Wise, which seemed to be based on the Basil Fawlty character.

i haven't watched any of the monty python films but i have watched fawlty towers a fair bit and i haven't ever seen any other actor shout and get angry like that!
