i recently viewed a few bikes that caught my eye but once i heard they were being sold due to there owner suffering a heart attack / stroke and he was not aware of them being sold whilst he was still in hospital put me off .

would it have stopped you from buying them

Like a safe storage scheme where you get to keep the bikes or sell them on if the owner doesn't want them back. Great idea.

I'd probably visit them in hospital, but only if I could take a baseball bat in with me.

It's the kind of situation that any decent person in possession of all the facts should easily be able to work out the right thing to do, and that's go round and give the seller a good kick in the knackers for attempting to sell them.

must admit i made an offer but when the seller told me why they were being sold was gobsmacked at first and then it just felt wrong and i was glad he didnt take me up on my offer

I had a heart attack last week while out on the bike and I am due to have a triple bypass on the 5th of August. I think locking the bikes to something solid and hiding the key may be a good idea!

When I came off my bike, a local tradesman scooped it up, put it in his van and took it away.

A few months later when I was out of 'orspital and recovering he still had it for me tucked away safe and dry in some store-room.
