I don't get avatars like I don't get people who post "LOL" or people called "Keri" who spell the "i" with a little circle with a smiley face inside.

Agree, though I'm surprised how few people have noticed that my monkey flicks the V every 25 seconds.

I didn't have an avatar - I found it a bit stressful trying to find something with some 'meaning' or representative of me in some way. In the end I gave up and just chose one that I found a bit funny.

I think people just need some gentle encouragement, if they do not upload or select an avatar then there should be a default image of say ....... Rebekah Brooks or ..... Rich P eating crisps.
