I don't mind the wind as long as its behind me ! Gives me a chance to use my anemometer gadget as well.......

well no real wind today so nice ~19mph average travel speed.

Same thing in Birmingham, only time I went below 16 mph was when I was stopped (and that one short, sharp hill that has me doing 14 mph on my better days).

There's another benefit of the weather - more cyclists = more SCR action. I was doing about 25mph up a modest hill today and overtook a more lycra'd up cyclist along the way.

Really fed up with the wind, when will we get some normal weather? Went out on the Southport Coast Road again yesterday which runs SW to NE, getting to the northerly end was a breeze (pardon the pun), but coming back to the southerly end in the strong wind was tough. The BBC website said the wind was about 15 mph, but it seemed much stronger. Today it is forecasting W and SW winds of 25-27 mph so should be even more fun. However, an alternative might be to get the train to Liverpool and have a wind assisted ride home for the 20 or so miles to Southport, or would that be cheating / proof of fair weather mindset?

I consider it cheating but then i'm off work and have decided to my intervals on the bike trainer.

But yes it feels like there's been a constant strong wind since those crazy cold easterlies a while ago.
