Is it really worth commuting in heavy rain?

What about waterproof jacket and trousers over normal clothes? You could let the jacket drip dry normally like others do with their jackets in wet weather, and you could put the trousers on a chair back. The lot should be dry within a lecture.

The problem is I LOVE flying along and powering through my commute, I could go fractionally slower and arrive without a sweat but this doesn't appeal to me!!

However, I think yours might be option on the wettest days, when I wake up tired and really feel like I "can't be bothered", means I can cut down the amount of stuff I need to carry in and might be a more fun start to the day than trying to force myself to fly along on the rare days I can't quite be bothered!

Thanks!

Only happened to me once, last summer: was just riding down the road 3 miles to visit my pal's fish (he was on hols), jumped on the bike, no waterproofs, only shorts and a tee-shirt.
The heavens opened, got so soaked I could have been in the pool :rain:
Then I discovered his tumble dryer was not working, had to ride home in borrowed clothes 3 sizes too big plus dripping trainers.

Well after this morning's drenching, I've currently took over 4 radiators. 1 in my office with top, socks, and coat thrown over a near by chair, 1 in the corridor with head band, bottoms and shoes, another the other end of the corridor with shoe covers and finally, my pal's office next door - well, he gets the joy to look at my gloves and brasierre all day

Ha, got two other free buffs. Excellent for keeping my neck warm.

Those Dribuddy's might be needed when I move offices eventually - open plan, new posh office, won't be allowed my kit everywhere.

Today's soaking? It was dry enough up here this morning for me to take my shiny, mudguard-less roadbike in today for the first time in ages!

Good effort on taking over the office (and yes, I also have one of those C+ buffs).
