I really don''t know why they branded that as a dangerous stunt; I have plenty of experience driving proper off road vehicles (Land Rovers) in some fairly challenging situations including a couple downright frightening. I also know that track well having walked it and cycled it many times. A Land Rover would have got up it easily so I can only conclude that they are calling it dangerous so as to discourage any other muppet who fancies a go having seen it's so easy that even a Vauxhall can get up there.
If he'd got it back down again (and I don't quite understand why he didn't), I bet no one would have been any the wiser. I'd love to have a crack at getting my Fourtrak up there. I haven't walked it for a few years, but the last time I did I remember thinking it'd be a great drive.
I've seen young children being pushed up in a pram

Its a long walk but its only really as challenging as you make it these days. Its no less worthwhile for becoming easier BTW, its still one of my favourite hikes.
And yes I'd love to have a go driving ooh lets say a Mini Moke up there, but I wont as its wrong/illegal. Doesnt stop me wanting to, just stops me from doing it!
Apparently this man had a 'bucket list' of things to do, and this was one of them so there was method to his madness at least.
