I bought some of those rubbery ice spikes for the bottom of my shoes this winter... so that should guarantee there'll be no ice round these parts this winter! Might buy a new brolly for summer, and some water proofs.

Does anyone know if we are forecast for snow this winter if any? Because by the looks of it, our summer is coming about 3/4 months earlier than it usually does (ie it has become warm today).

My information is that an event called a "sudden stratospheric warming" is expected to happen shortly. If it does we may have cold and possibly snowy weather from about mid month onwards.

This is something the computer forecasting models apparently don't handle very well so there is a lot of uncertainty about it. (In other words, don't blame me if it all goes pear shaped.)

I got some of these in 2011. It guaranteed almost no snow locally in winter 11/12.

I ablsolutely love snow - not seen a single flake here yet this winter. I've been thinking about ordering some Schwalbe studded tyres but daren't as I know as soon as they arrive, it will never snow again.
The 5 day forecast here is for dry, overcast and mild. Perhaps the most boring forecast I've ever seen!
