Hi all,

I am taking delivery of my new commuter/winter bike soon. I will therefore have to sadly say goodbye to my Kenisis Racelight T2 in the not too distant future.

Problem is I am going to have to ebay it as don't really know it's worth (full Ultegra group set and mavic aksium wheels blah blah blah ). So I just wondered if there is a best time of year to put it on for sale?

Shall I go now or wait for the weather to start getting better?

Many thanks

I would of thought spring would be the best but could be wrong. If your putting it on ebay you could set a reserve.

You can try the classifieds on here. Price wise, decide how much you want for it but be prepared to entertain offers

Don't forget to include delivery in your sums

Why are you changing bike?

I'd start the process as soon as you have the new bike. It's hard to predict when is best, so just go for it

Over that last 50 years I have bought more bikes in March than at any other time of year.

Thanks for the replies, gives some food for thought.

@vickster The change is because my work has started one of the cycle schemes and the idea of a shiny new bike was too much to resist.

Get your new bike, keep your old bike.
simples ;)

I've just posted my bike for sale on the sale forum, and on eBay,nothing so far but have sold previous bikes in the past, guess it's a case of right timing I find, but I am limited as I do collection only to save any dispute of damage in transit,I don't think there is a right time to sell a bike,if someone wants one and sees one suitable,a lot of bike sales happen around Nov to get rid of end of season models,so usually a few owned bikes pop up then as you do get decent sale offers on new at that time

Sold my previous bike round about this time last year on ebay.It probably took about three weeks until i eventually sold it.

Watch out for chancers who will offer you silly prices to "take it off your hands".

I had a couple already ridiculous offer just ignored it,sold 2 on eBay before before upgrades and had a couple of time wasters but sold eventually, like I said it's just timing I guess, but when you need the sale to help fund another bike the waiting seems longer :reading:
