is there a decent looking road helmet for under £50?

The only way to see if you like a helmet is to try it on for comfort and fit then look in the mirror. All these catalogue pics are designed to sway you into buying regardless of your needs. Try before you buy imho.

Helmet brands cater to different head shapes, yes they will tell you the adjustment will accommodate everyone, yes it will accommodate your head, but it won't necessarily accommodate it comfortably! You need to try helmets on and see which ones suit your head shape.

thanks for the advice, picked up one of these in black for £35.

tried it on the other day in evans and felt and looked nice but wasnt willing to part with £70 for it.
