Is this a good deal?

If you are really small, it would be an excellent deal. But they only have the 48cm frame left in stock and that comes with 650c wheels/tyres and not the standard road bike size of 700c... so if you are under something like 5 foot 2 inches, yep its fine if you don't want to have limited wheel upgrade options at later date. If you are over that size or what 700c wheels/tyres then no, sadly it is not a good deal.

@biggs682 might have something pre-loved that would suit

I know he was selling a larger frame recently, so even if he's no bikes he might be able to build that up for you.

You'll get a lot more bang for your buck buying used, and while I appreciate there's a lot of dross out there, (and a lot of nobbers selling them), someone like our biggs is a diamond geezer and as straight as an arrow

@rosscosmfc i have this which is a good size for you http://www.cyclechat.net/threads/for-sale-large-sized-charge-juicer.159396/

if you need more details and pics pm me
@rosscosmfc - that's a lot more bike for your dosh than a Triban will give you.

Don't get me wrong the Triban is a great bike for what it is, but like everything it's built to a budget. The weak link on the Triban bikes is the wheels, put simply they're made of cheese and will need replacing quite quickly, depending on use obviously.

That Charge Juicer is a belter TBH

You might not have heard of Charge bikes. They are a relatively new company who design and are based in the UK but made in the Far East I believe. Odd model names but good bikes. Here is a link to their site http://www.chargebikes.com

I'll ditto the wheels issue on the tribans. I had one, and my OH still has one and both of us have had to replace the wheels. Mine just had constant bearing issues with the mileage I was covering (I needed to regrease and replace them every 6-8 weeks which was getting very boring) and my OH's went after around 12 months....

Thanks for the replies

Will have a look at the links although I'd like to keep the price down at the £300 or so mark if possible
