Just take an Allen key out and keep tweaking. You’ll need time to adjust all the variables. Is your saddle taking all your weight? Does it fit you? Eight months is a short time to expect big leaps.
im in the no-stretch camp. You’ll build the muscles required by cycling A lot
Thank you Randomnerd, I too intimated above that maybe I’m expecting too much, too soon. I need to spend more time in the saddle for sure but I want to try to ensure that my time spent is working as well as it could.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
Doesn’t make sense that your quads are weak unless you don’t train legs?
Get a Swiss ball and start doing some wall squats bridging etc, plus exercises for calves, hamstrings and hip flexors
And get stretching everything daily not just select muscles. Yoga a good way to go

Yep plenty of chicken legged grunty blokes at my gym with silly big shoulders
‘’Chicken legs’’ was my nickname in the Army .... I‘ve just realised what the problem might be
