Confession? I wear similar (though socks are not white). Only cycling, Shimano SPD clipless.
I find most clipless (SPD) cycling shoes far too narrow but the sandal format is very comfortable. And on tour that ends-up meaning through most of the day, changing into more normal shoes for restaurants or whatever.
