Perhaps a quick email to the Met office would answer you question? They might able to do something about it .

It is rather windy. One day last week was murder cycling home, the strongest wind I've cycled in I think. We've got a flag flying in the back garden so I know how crap it will be before I leave the house! ;0)

Good when it's behind you though.

I've recorded new personal bests on the way home for the past two days! Mind you, we had strong easterlies last May - I did the C2C over the Whitsun break and had three days of gale-force headwinds.

Wind's been very gusty and changes direction alot. Just been into Central Manchester, and coming out was interesting near the hospitals.....some poor other cyclist nearly stopped dead - I was blown sideways....

I didn't mind the 20mph wind too much on mon as unusually it was an easterly - which meant uphill on the way into work with it behind me, but on the way back into it i was going largely downhill. Still qutie slow though...

Gusty sidewinds can be dangerous but sometimes the wind can make your ride interesting. For example I was heading out into the strong persistent easterly we have had for the last few days yesterday,it was good training as you had to work hard to keep a decent speed even then it was only in the high teens. Coming back along the A6 through Westhoughton was great with the tailwind ,riding in the high twenties and low thirities mph for a good few miles

lucky for some of you, no matter which way i go, its always a head wind. Notice it a lot on the front wheel, sems to be really light and wobbles a bit. Also when going over BF's bridge, if there are a row of busses or high sided viechles, when you get to the gab, you get wacked by the wind.

This week i've been going to work with a head wind all the way, which takes about 5-10mins longer. But it does have a + side to it, coming back from work the wind is behind me so i am home in no time.
