Is this thread going to contain too much pedantry

Call me a Crusty Old Pedant (a COP) but....
I sometimes visit a US forum and bristle at "rediculous" "irregardless" and misused "alternate" even "gotten" but just lately I have noticed another and saw it here today, 'to'. 'too' and 'two' are not interchangeable. At first I thought this must be a typo but I rarely see 'too', as in "too late" and when written "to late" I get confused.
Do you have any faves of your own or do my offenders resonate with you to?

Yes, I find all those things annoying, and many more.

But if I can still understand a post, I'll let it pass (unless I dislike the poster or their argument, in which case I may pick it up;) ).

There are times when things are so bad that I really do struggle to understand what's being said.

I notice it and it grates but it's not up to me to correct another poster in public. I'm not above making similar errors so it doesn't do for me to play the smart arse. I'm not sure if it's getting worse or not but I get the impression it is.
Some of the stuff in newspapers is so badly written it can be all but impossible to decipher what the nub of a story is.

the ones i find most annoying are the very long unpunctuated posts u now the ones where there are no capitals no commas no fullstops no nuffink and go on and on with out a break some of them are clearly made up of distinct sentences some are not it is very hard to tell sometimes what is being said or meant even a paragraph or two might help but no there arent even those to break up the long block of text i now that it is sometimes difficult posting on a phone but when i post on a phone the only thing i cant do are the smilies i dont now the codes to but there is no excuz i found it really trying when i woz teaching and had to mark essays written like this as especially with technical stuff it can be very confusing i now this is a cycling forum and not an english lesson but still there is little excuz for it quite often i see a post like this and i don 't even bother to read it as it is too difficult to scan or work out what is being said quickly enough to see if it is of interest to me maybe someone can explain why it happens perhaps google translate should have a section or languge for translating it into something that is properly readable and makes sense to the rest of us the occasional typo isn't a problem but the regular spelling faults can change the way a sentence reads and so it is important to get that right where ever possible even by edits and corrections after the event more people should do that and so it will be easier for the rest of us

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes applies. I will attempt to out pedant the pedant that tries and fails. Otherwise, hey ho.I don't know what people's backgrounds are and as far as I'm concerned, education is no indicator of intelligence. A parrot can talk, but does it know what it is saying? Forgive me, I am full of festive cheer!!:hugs:

There is a little known law that, whenever someone criticises someone else's grammar online, a gremlin appears. It may just have happened to you to....
